The two giants of the Indian vehicle market, Tata and Maruti Suzuki, have launched entry-level hatchbacks with factory-fitted CNG alternatives, recognizing the requirements of consumers and taking into account growing petrol prices. Maruti Suzuki introduced the Celerio with a factory-installed CNG option at the start of this year, and Tata followed suit with the new CNG Tiago. Both of these vehicles are hatchbacks with a compact size. The Tata Tiago measures 3765 mm in length, 1677 mm in width, and 1535 mm in height. The Celerio, on the other hand, is 3695 mm long, 1655 mm wide, and 1555 mm tall. Tata Motors has debuted the Tiago iCNG in India, with prices starting at 6.10 lakh. The Tata Tiago iCNG is powered by a 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine that produces 72 bhp and 95 Nm of peak torque, with a five-speed manual gearbox as standard. The suspension has been retuned to account for the extra weight of the CNG kit.
The Heartect architecture is now used in the Maruti Suzuki Celerio. It currently measures 3,695 mm in length, 1,655 mm in width, and 1,555 mm in length. The Celerio has a wheelbase of 2,435 mm and weighs 905 kilogrammes. The Celerio CNG has a 170 mm ground clearance. The Celerio, for example, has a 1.0L engine under the hood. It has a rated power output of 56.7 hp and a maximum torque of 82 Nm when running on CNG. In CNG trim, the Celerio also receives a manual transmission.
