The new-generation Celerio was recently launched in the Indian market by Suzuki. India’s first Celerio was unveiled at the Auto Expo 2014, followed by a facelift update in 2017. Its second-generation version is now available in the country at a starting price of Rs 4.99 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi. Design and Style
Maruti Suzuki’s Celerio is based on the fifth-generation Heartect platform. The design of the new Celerio is more rounded than the squarish appearance of the outgoing model. There are chrome accents on the grille and Suzuki’s logo on the front. There are oval-shaped headlamps that use traditional halogen bulbs. On its side profile, it has blacked-out multi-spoke alloy wheels, lift-to-open handles on all doors and angular taillamps at the rear. There are six colors available for the all-new Celerio. The colors are: Fire Red, Speedy Blue, Silky Silver, Glistering Grey, Arctic White, and Caffeine Brown.
Engine and Transmission
Maruti Suzuki Celerio comes with a single petrol engine. Powered by a 1.0-litre K10C naturally-aspirated petrol engine, it develops 65 horsepower and 89 Nm of torque. In addition to the engine, the AMT (AGS) is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Celerio claims to be the most fuel-efficient petrol car in India with a claimed mileage of 26.68 kmpl.
Features and Safety
With the all-new Celerio, Suzuki has completely redesigned the interior and added a lot of features. It comes with a touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, steering-mounted controls, an analog instrument cluster with MID, and push-button start/stop functionality with a smart key. The vehicle is equipped with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and Brake Assist, reverse parking sensors with a camera and hill-hold assist, among other safety features.
